First Be Willing

We just completed the first-ever 21 Day Mind Mastery Challenge. 100 people from around the globe joined the Challenge and learned how to create a new, empowered mindset. It was a little bit of neuroscience, mixed with a dash of heart-centered contemplation and a heaping a scoop of fun. The results some participants have shared in the private Facebook group are just breathtaking.

“I am so grateful to you for sharing this practice with the world…I can only say that I feel the shift and growth within me, but I look forward to some day sharing some concrete events in my life that are a direct result of your guidance. I'm on my way reaching my fullest potential!” – T.E., 21 Day Mind Mastery Challenge Participant

Mind Mastery is one of the tools I teach that gives you the ability to create a new, empowered mindset. Based on principles from neural science, Mind Mastery comes in handy in so many ways and is one of the key tools I used to go from being a shy, inhibited guy to a confident connector.

As I write this I am sitting in the American Airlines Admiral’s Club at JFK. I’m supposed to be landing in Puerto Rico where I’m a featured speaker at a business event. A check-in snafu resulted in having to take a later flight. It was that or get rid of two pieces of luggage. I decided to keep my luggage and make the best of a day at the airport. You can imagine that I was not a happy camper when the check-in attendant told me that I had to switch flights. My brain had already crossed the Atlantic and was basking in the sun and soaking in the azure sea. So it was a cold, rude awakening to hear that I’d be stranded in the airport for six hours. Talk about the perfect opportunity for me to go into a tailspin! I had every “right” to loose it and I’m pretty sure steam was billowing out of my ears.

Yes, I was livid. And after I took a step back from the situation I was able to see that I simply had an opportunity to stay in the flow despite the circumstances. This was the perfect time to revisit Mind Mastery to keep me from falling into rage or taking a nap to pass the time. So I choose who I needed to be in order to produce extraordinary results from this day. Then I turned the Admiral’s Club into my office and stepped in being focused, delighted and unstoppable.

Do life’s surprises get the best of you? Do you have the tools to show up for success even when you don’t feel like it?

As one of my mentors showed me many moons ago, it all starts with simply being willing to be bigger than the circumstances. If you are willing then you, too, can learn how to create extraordinary results from every day and situation. It takes practice and when curve balls are thrown at you you’ll have the perfect opportunity to get a little better at being a master of your mind.
